Srinagar, July 06 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Tuesday witnessed two deaths due to Covid-19 while 231 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 3,582. With 02 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,345 and 231 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 317,481 Of the exact number of 317,481 cases, 197,189 are from Kashmir division and 120,292 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 231 new cases, 148 belong to Kashmir division while as 83 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 197,189 including 192,960 recoveries and 2,225 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 120,292 including 116,594 recoveries and 2,120 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,582 including 2,004 from Kashmir division and 1,578 from Jammu division. With 421 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 309,554 which is 97.50 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 63 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 14 from Budgam, 30 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 10 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 83 from Jammu division include 15 from Jammu, 10 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 21 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 10 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 07 from Reasi," officials disclosed Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the total cases of Mucormycosis stands at 30. Out of 02 deaths reported today, 01 died in SMVDNH Katra and 01 died in CD hospital Srinagar. As per officials figures, 70,408 positive cases including 830 deaths and 68,873 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,338 including 280 deaths and 22,832 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,682 including 22,283 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 14,975 including 14,619 recoveries and 192 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,885 including 165 deaths and 13,541 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,178 including 15,867 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,350 cases including 9,156 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,678 including 9,426 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,133 including 10,868 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,562 including 5,495 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 52,457 including 50,863 recoveries and 1,136 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,207 including 11,002 recoveries and 132 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,757 including 10,440 recoveries and 220 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,934 including 6,608 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Doda, 9,219 including 9,057 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,091 including 6,924 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,525 including 4,370 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,148 including 5,872 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Poonch, 5,876 including 5,731 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Ramban and 6,078 including 5,727 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin 2,491,875 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 9,980 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,582 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 2,226,419 persons have completed the surveillance period and 247,549 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 10,314,088 samples are available. Out of 10,314,088 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,996,607 while as 317,481 have tested positive, among them 3,582 persons are active, 309,554 persons have recovered and 4,345 persons have died—(KNO)
